Choose to search by
Author, Title and/or Keyword. Type in the
information in the blank box and hit Find Book. Use quotation marks "author"
for more precise results. This will bring up a list of
books for sale. If you find a book you want to buy, click ADD TO BASKET. You
can remove the book from your basket before purchase if you change your
mind. ABE holds the items in your basket (a month or so, I think) if you do
not purchase or remove them. If the book is in your basket and is sold to
someone else, it is noted as sold. When you use the Find Book button above
to find and purchase a book, earthly pursuits receives a small commission of
the sale for sending you to their website. Your purchase price will not
be increased to cover the commission.
ABE has a good
glossary of terms for used book descriptions. In
general, I suggest you read several of the descriptions and buy the book in
the best condition you can afford. Good condition of old books doesn't mean
quite the same thing as good condition of new books. Read the descriptions
very carefully if there is a wide range of prices on the books. Also, be
aware that a lot of old books were published in two or more volumes and it
is not unusual for just one of the books in a set to be available. In
general, 1st editions are more valuable, however, I often prefer a later
revised edition in gardening and non-fiction books. If you have

Choose a product category from the
pull-down menu and type in a title, author, category or any word you want to
search on. This will bring up a list of items for you to browse. If you
choose "All Products" it will list relevant items in every product category.
For example, if you type in "herbs" you may get a list of herb books,
restaurant menus, kitchen and housewares items, magazines and outdoor living
